Haematopus Moquini
Voici un huîtrier de Moquin (du nom du naturaliste français Alfred Moquin-Tandon). C'est un oiseau de bord de mer. Ces photos ont été prises dans le Western Cape, dans De Hoop Reserve. C'est un oiseau qu'on repère facilement grâce à son oeil et son bec rouge vif. Il n'existe qu'ici, en Afrique du Sud et aussi au Mozambique.
Here's an African Black Oyster-Catcher. It's a shorebird. These photos were taken in the Western Cape, in De Hoop Reserve more exactly, but you can also find it in the Kwazulu-Natal, and in Mozambique. It's endemic. You can easily spot it with its bright red eye and bill.
